A source in the transport supervision services of the region said that the cause of the explosion was a malfunction of the gas equipment installed by a handicraft method. According to preliminary data, one of the gas cylinders installed on the roof was faulty in the bus, there was a leak and an explosion that tore the roof, knocked out the glass and tore off the skin.
Another source said that the bus had no gas equipment, it was diesel. According to preliminary data, no traces of explosives were found in the bus.
At the same time, from the data of inspections of the transnational supervision and the Ministry of Internal Affairs posted in the SPARK database, shouldthat the transport company operating the bus was previously prosecuted for the illegal installation of gas equipment.
Investigators are considering several versions of what happened, including a malfunction of technical equipment, transportation of explosives or a gas cylinder, and a terrorist attack. A criminal case was initiated on the fact of improper provision of services for the transportation of passengers, which, through negligence, caused serious harm to the health of citizens (clause “c” of part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
