The Belarusian Defense Ministry stated that the “camp for political dissidents” located near the village of Novokolosovo is a military unit. About it it says in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Defense.
“Every child in the village of Novokolosovo, Stolbtsovsky District, knows this military unit very well. It has been here since the 50s of the last century, ”the channel said.
According to representatives of the department, this military unit houses the twenty-fifth arsenal of missile and artillery weapons of the country’s Armed Forces. According to the head of the arsenal, Alexander Babenko, “samples” of radio-technical troops, air defense and anti-aircraft missile troops are kept on the territory of the unit.
“We have a modern security system, cameras around the perimeter, which are displayed on the control panel. The perimeter is illuminated. There are warning tables on the fence. Basically, officers and warrant officers, civilian personnel serve in the arsenal, ”he added.
Yesterday CNN released a report on a concentration camp for political prisoners, which was recently built near the village of Novokolosovo. According to the TV channel, the camp was built on the territory of a former Soviet missile storage facility. Its area is about 81 hectares. The property includes barracks with barred windows and reflective glass. The territory is fenced with three rows of barbed wire fence with electricity. Surveillance cameras are installed along the perimeter, and a sign on the fence reads: “Forbidden border, no access.”
Residents of the village, in conversation with journalists, called the object a “camp”. Two eyewitnesses told the TV channel that they saw military patrols in the area.
How noted TV channel Dozhd, in January the BYPOL project, which was created by the former Belarusian security forces, published an audio recording on which the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the country Nikolai Karpenkov announced the decision to create a “camp for sharp-hoofed” Belarusian protesters.
