The Court of Appeal found it legal to include FBK and Navalny’s headquarters in the register of extremist organizations

[ad_1]

The first appellate court of general jurisdiction in Moscow recognized the ban on the activities of the Anti-Corruption Fund and its inclusion in the register of extremist organizations legal. About it informs lawyer Ivan Pavlov, who represents the interests of the foundation.

The meeting was held behind closed doors. The lawyers asked for a month to get acquainted with the documents, but the judge gave them only 20 minutes.

Recall that the Moscow City Court recognized the FBK, the Foundation for the Protection of Citizens’ Rights and Navalny’s headquarters in Russia as extremist organizations in early June at the request of the Moscow prosecutor’s office. The court ordered the immediate termination of their activities. The Moscow prosecutor’s office believes that the structures allegedly created “conditions for changing the foundations of the constitutional order,” including using the “color revolution” scenario.

How notes “Novaya Gazeta”, the decision of the Moscow City Court on the FBK spoke of the use of Nazi symbols. In particular, information was given about a VKontakte user who posted on his page a fragment of the cartoon “Tom and Jerry”, where a cat personifies the USSR, and a mouse personifies Nazi Germany. At the same time, it is not known exactly how this user is associated with Navalny’s organizations. As another proof of the extremist activities of the organizations, the story of a resident of Cherkessk was cited, who “went to buy a shawarma, saw that someone was being detained, stopped and was detained himself.”
