Two passenger trains collided in the Czech Republic, there are fatalities

In the south-west of the Czech Republic, two passenger trains collided near the city of Domazhice. The train accident killed two people and injured dozens of passengers. The movement of trains on this section is interrupted, writes Lidovky.cz.

The emergency services of the Czech Republic, as well as rescuers from Germany, work at the scene. According to preliminary data, the driver of one of the trains drove to the red signal of the semaphore. This version was announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Transport Karel Gavlicek.

“About 50 people were injured. […] The situation is serious. I’m on my way to the scene, ”he said.

According to firefighters, two people died, and seven are in critical condition. A total of 38 people were injured, transfers RIA Novosti.
