Putin has been named one of the top 100 most influential people in 2022 by TIME magazine. They asked Alexei Navalny to write about it column from jail.
Below is the original text of Alexei:

Perhaps the true mission of Vladimir Putin is to teach lessons. Everyone – from world leaders and world experts to ordinary people. In 2022, he was especially good at it.
He again reminded us that the path that starts with “fake elections a little” always ends with dictatorship. That dictatorship always leads to war. Oh, you shouldn’t have forgotten that, right?
World leaders have been hypocritically talking for years about “pragmatic stance” and the benefits of international trade. The price of the war: military and economic assistance to Ukraine, refugees, sanctions – all this will cost hundreds of times more than the oil and gas contracts brought in, at the signing of which it was so customary to drink champagne.
Putin reminded us of the “duck law”. Remember? Walks like a duck, looks and quacks like a duck, so it’s a duck.
It is the same here: he destroyed the media, organizes political assassinations and lives in imperial illusions, which means that he is a madman who is capable of organizing a bloody massacre in the center of Europe in the 21st century. And do not hug him at international forums.
Right now, Putine is teaching a lesson on how to reset the economic growth of his country in 20 years.
However, the answer to the main question: how to stop the evil madman with an army, a nuclear bomb and membership in the UN Security Council, we all have to find ourselves.
