In Russia, the number of patients with coronavirus infection may be five times higher than the official Russian statistics give. About it writes Mediazona.
The publication analyzed the data, based on the theory of analyst Sergei Shpilkin, and came to the conclusion that the total number of those who had been ill during the pandemic significantly differs from that given by the headquarters for fighting the infection.
According to Mediazona, the register of the Ministry of Health, created to track the number of cases of COVID-19, currently contains more than 29 million records, which is five times higher than the official statistics on those infected.
According to Shpilkin, the number of the COVID-19 vaccination certificate contains data on the serial number of the vaccine issued. Accordingly, by looking at the last eight digits of this number, you can find out how many people were vaccinated throughout the country. Thus, Shpilkin analyzed the data of several hundred certificates sent by subscribers, and came to the conclusion that the numbers coincided with the information on the rates of vaccination collected by the portal Gogov.ru.
Later, Shpilkin also analyzed the certificates of those who had already had coronavirus and found out that they are numbered in order – the last eight digits of the certificate indicate how many people had been ill in Russia before the person to whom this certificate was issued. At the same time, the journalists, together with Shpilkin, discovered that the certificate number begins with an eight, the region code and one, and the next four digits are the month and year of the diagnosis.
The authors of the investigation also noted that a person is entered into the register at the time of diagnosis.
A source familiar with the operation of the registry confirmed that by mid-June, the number of cases exceeded 27 million, and by July – 29. However, according to dataAccording to official statistics, during the entire time of the pandemic in Russia, 6 million people fell ill.
If you follow these calculations, then it can be argued, the authors of the investigation say, that Russia is in third place in the total number of cases during the pandemic and in first place in the number of cases per million population.
According to the publication, according to calculations carried out by Sergei Shpilkin, at the peak of the second wave of coronavirus, 125 thousand people could be infected every day, which is comparable only with the results of the daily incidence of coronavirus registered in India and the United States.
According to the authors of the investigation, the certificate numbers “show figures that do not coincide with the rate of vaccination in Russia.”
