In Tambov, the second Western District Military Court sentenced Andrey Smagin, a local resident, to 8 years in prison, who is accused of having links with the neo-Nazi group MKU. About it informs press service of the Investigative Committee.

Smagin was found guilty of preparing a terrorist act in a student dormitory (part 1 of article 30, part 1 of article 205 of the Criminal Code), illegal storage and manufacture of explosives.

According to the investigation, Smagin was an active supporter of the ideology of Nazism and hated people of non-Slavic appearance. In 2020, he allegedly began preparing an explosion in a hostel in order to influence the decisions of the Russian authorities in the field of migration policy. In 2021, he was detained.

Abbreviation “M.K.U.” stands for “Maniacs. Killer cult. The first detentions of the so-called members of the group took place in February this year in Voronezh.

Vesti claimed that there was a certain Moscow branch of M.K.U., which oversees the SBU, and the online publication Ukraina.ru names the name of the curator – Vitaly Koshytsky.

There is almost no evidence of the existence of such a group in the Ukrainian segment of the Internet; the name of the “curator from the SBU” Koshytsky is not mentioned at all. But, according to the “investigators” from the ROKOT Telegram channel, which published the personal data of their participants after the winter protests, this SBU officer uses the social network VKontakte, blocked in Ukraine and cooperating with Russian law enforcement agencies. The account pointed to by ROKOT is indeed exists, it publishes Koszycki’s poems. The photograph of Koshytsky, published by ROKOT, is not found anywhere else on the Internet, Besides “Arguments and Facts” and the “revealing” pro-Kremlin resource Stalker Zone.
