Photographer Alexander Strukov arrested in Moscow in connection with calls for terrorism. Previously, he trained at the Moscow headquarters of Navalny

The Lyublinsky District Court chose a measure of restraint in the form of arrest for Alexander Strukov, a former photographer intern at the Moscow headquarters of Alexei Navalny. About it informed TASS. Strukov is accused of public calls for terrorism. The reason for initiating a criminal case was the comments under the news in the Znak Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, 28-year-old Alexander Strukov has been commenting on the news of the publication since April 2021. According to the conclusions of the examination, Strukov’s message, which begins with the words “Glory to Ukraine”, contains “linguistic and psychological signs of a threat to commit violent acts against persons of Russian nationality.”

Strukov’s other publications (for example, with the phrase “if you burn the Kremlin to the ground”) were assessed by police experts as a “call for terrorism.” The case file alleges that Strukov allegedly called for the physical destruction of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and members of United Russia, writes “Siberia. Realities”.

A case has been initiated against the photographer under Art. 282 (inciting hatred) and Art. 205.2 (propaganda of terrorism) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. On January 28, Znak disabled comments under their posts.

Strukov was detained near the entrance of the house on January 26. His apartment was searched. About twenty law enforcers visited the photographer’s home. They seized the computer. Law enforcement officers told Strukov’s mother that he had posted posts on social networks that “offended the authorities,” reported “OVD-Info”. On the evening of January 27, the photographer was taken to the police department in the Lyublino district, and he stopped communicating.

Strukov did not work at the Anti-Corruption Foundation, contrary to the assertion of TASS. He trained for several weeks as a photographer at Navalny’s Moscow headquarters during the 2018 presidential election campaign, and also collaborated with media outlets that were later banned.
