Blogger Adam Khamchiev was kidnapped in Ingushetia. About it informed press service of the republican party “Civil Initiative”, whose representative he is. According to them, on January 27 at 6 am, unknown armed men dressed in military uniform broke into Khamchiev’s apartment and took him away in an unknown direction. Civic Initiative links the kidnapping to his blogging activities.

Witnesses of the kidnapping of the blogger were his neighbors, as at first unknown people knocked on the door of three neighboring apartments by mistake. They introduced themselves as communal workers, checking debts for paying for electricity. When they entered Khamchiev’s apartment, the neighbors heard screams and noise from it. At about 7:20 a.m., a relative of the blogger found two men in civilian clothes and masks in it, two more were standing on the landing. When asked about the whereabouts of Khamchiev, they replied that he was not there and ordered him to leave the apartment.

“Civil Initiative” published video showing several men taking Khamchiev away and putting him in a car

Khamchiev was one of the first to talk about the complaints of residents of Ingushetia about poor quality medical care in the Nazran perinatal center. Also recently, he has been publicizing the stories of people affected by flooding in the village of Upper Achaluki in 2021.
