Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia Dmitry Kozak said that Andrey Turchak, First Vice Speaker of the Federation Council and Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia party, did not consult with Normandy Format advisers on the proposal to supply weapons from Russia to the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR, transmits Interfax.
“We have many different initiatives on this issue, and we managed to stop a lot of them, but what happened today, I don’t know what Mr. Turchak was guided by, he didn’t consult with us,” Kozak said at the talks between the advisers of the heads of “ Normandy Four” held in Paris.
On January 26, First Vice Speaker of the Federation Council, Secretary of the General Council of United Russia Andrey Turchak announced “pumping Ukraine with Western lethal weapons” and added that Russia should provide support to the DPR and LPR “in the form of deliveries of certain types of weapons.”
“We must stop the Kiev regime,” he concluded.
A few hours later, the head of United Russia in the State Duma, Vladimir Vasilyev, asked the country’s leadership to begin deliveries of military products to the self-proclaimed republics.
