In St. Petersburg, minors were banned from attending sports and cultural events from January 28 to February 13. About it informs TASS with reference to the press service of the city administration.
Children are prohibited from visiting zoos, museums, theaters, circuses, concert halls, cinemas, swimming pools, fitness centers, indoor ice rinks, aquariums and other entertainment facilities.
The ban is due to the spread of the omicron strain and an increase in the number of children hospitalized with a diagnosis of COVID-19. “If from January 3 to January 9, a total of 93 children with COVID-19 were hospitalized, from January 10 to January 16 – 126, then from January 17 to January 23 – already 246 children,” informs “Fontanka” with reference to the city health committee.
On January 25, the operational headquarters reported more than 67 thousand new cases in Russia, more than 9.7 thousand of them in St. Petersburg.
