The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, commented on the kidnapping of the wife of federal judge Saydi Yangulbaev and the mother of human rights activist Abubakar Yangulbaev. According to Kadyrov, Zarema Musaeva will face either jail for assaulting a police officer or death. He promises the same fate to the entire Yangulbaev family.
“Law enforcement agencies do their job well, and a bunch of people who call themselves “human rights defenders” are whining about breaking the law, — wrote Kadyrov in his Telegram channel. – This time for the second day they write about the case in Nizhny Novgorod. Everyone replicates the same information without actually knowing the facts. Yangulbaev had been sent a summons three times before yesterday’s incident. The operational event of the police from the Chechen Republic on Thursday was also agreed with colleagues on the ground, and all their actions were carried out in accordance with the procedural legislation of the Russian Federation.
According to Kadyrov, on January 21, after Musaeva was taken to Grozny, she “attacked a police officer and almost took his eye.”
“Thus, she has already earned herself an article for a real term of imprisonment,” writes Kadyrov. – In order not to bring to this, she only had to come on the agenda to the investigator, and not go to extremes and bring the situation to the limit. “Human rights activists” dubbed the incident as a kidnapping, although law enforcement officers carried out legal and concerted operational actions. It turns out that one of the sons of the Yangulbaevs is making direct and open threats against me, saying that he will not forgive me for this. The competent authorities will take care of this person.”
Kadyrov also said that Musaeva’s husband, the father of human rights activist Saydi Yangulbaev, should be deprived of his judicial status.
“The personality of the father of the family is of interest – why is Saidi Yangulbaev, who tarnished his judicial reputation and shamefully fled from Grozny, still a judge with an active status? I appeal to the Supreme Court of Russia to take measures to expel Yangulbaev from the ranks of judges, kick him out of the reserve and completely erase his name from the history of the judicial body so as not to defame him, ”Kadyrov wrote.
“Each of the Yangulbaevs got their hands dirty in the vile publications of the Telegram channel,” says the head of Chechnya. – The whole family has no concept of honor and dignity. Not a single self-respecting person will sit in the channel and meekly listen to how selective curses and insults humiliate his entire nation and, moreover, will not help these bastards make money on donations. Be that as it may, I declare that this family is waiting for a place either in prison or underground. And it doesn’t depend on me anymore. I know the mood in society. As long as at least one Chechen is alive, the members of this family will no longer be able to freely enjoy life, the honor of every representative of our people is so deeply hurt. Always remember this, Yangulbaevs.”
Recall that on January 20, Chechen policemen in Nizhny Novgorod broke in to the apartment of federal judge Saydi Yangulbaev, father of Abubakar Yangulbaev, a former employee of the Committee against Torture. They could not kidnap Saydi Yangulbaev himself, since he has a judicial immunity status, but they took away his wife Zarema Musaeva. The pretext for the abduction was the fact that she was allegedly a witness in a fraud case in Grozny, where they were going to take her by force. Musayeva is sick with coronavirus, and besides, she has diabetes. She is dependent on insulin, which she was not allowed to take with her. Her family fears that she may die along the way. As she was being dragged up the stairs, she lost consciousness. Nothing is known of her whereabouts since last night.
The police and the FSB officers of Nizhny Novgorod did not react in any way to the requests of Musaeva’s relatives for help and the allegations of the abduction. The Kremlin said it was not aware of the details of the abduction and preferred not to believe it.
“Committee Against Torture” filed an urgent application to the ECtHR under rule 39 in connection with Musaeva’s abduction. Rule 39 – “fast legal aid” from the ECtHR. It applies if there is a threat to life or harm to human health, and all national remedies have been exhausted.
