Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov said that criticism of Smolny’s policy was paid for by “rich, influential” people who are dissatisfied with the quality of snow removal and garbage reform. He stated this at a meeting with heads of theaters and concert organizations, informs “Fontanka”.

“There is a complete sabotage, discrediting the authorities. Now the competent authorities are dealing with this issue. What should the governor and the government do? Say – guys, that’s it, I pass? They won’t wait. I came in order to repay the city, and two things will not stick to me, the most important thing is that I am not a coward and I do not “take it on my paw”. Each of you knows this… And I am not afraid to carry out reforms. I will carry them out, and I will bring them to the end,” the governor said.

“It’s impossible to scare me. I am the eighth child in the family, and my father came to Berlin. We have 22 people died, two Heroes of the Soviet Union. It is useless to frighten me and it is also useless to blackmail me… And we will correct the mistakes,” he added.
