Writer and publicist Severin Kviatkovsky was detained in Belarus, transmits Radio Liberty. The reason for the detention was the writer’s comment on Facebook.
Kwiatkowski was arrested after he returned from abroad. According to media reports, the security forces found the writer in the apartment of his relatives, and his equipment was confiscated. To conduct investigative actions, Kvyatkovsky was taken to Pinsk.
Severin Kwiatkowski worked as a journalist in the newspapers Imya and Nasha Niva, Radio Ratsya and Radio Svaboda. He is a member of the Union of Belarusian Writers and the PEN Center.
Kvyatkovsky is the author of the books “How to become a Belarusian. 100 Stories ”,“ Bottle Fries ”,“ A Gift for Adele ”and“ Colorado Forest ”.
