Ex-silovik Vitaly Berezhnoy, accused of the murder of Tyumen schoolgirl Nastya Muravyova, is appealing against the decision to open a criminal case. He stated that he was tortured with electric current and he is innocent.
He also assures that he did not participate in the search for Nastya Muravyova, as he worked all the time. Berezhnoy declared his non-involvement in the crime: according to him, he was at work in the furniture shop all the time, and also said that he did not use drugs.
Berezhnoy’s lawyer Elena Shikhova conversation with Znak confirmed that the defendant told about torture by electric current in the operational-investigative unit on Tulskaya Street, 3, which is called the “Tyumen Gestapo” in the city.

He met the girl on the landing at the entrance, lured her into his apartment, tied her with tape, raped and strangled her.

Soon, the ex-policeman put the body in a box of household appliances and hid it on the shore of Lake Obrochnoe on August 17. The schoolgirl’s body was discovered by members of the search party.
8-year-old resident of Tyumen Nastya disappeared on June 30. The girl went for a walk and warned her relatives that she would download the game via Wi-Fi in the house next door. The schoolgirl’s body was found on August 19, 2 km from the house on the coast of Lake Obrochnoe. The remains of the child were packed in a bag and tied with a ribbon.
