Czech singer Gana Gorka dies after contracting coronavirus on purpose instead of getting vaccinated – BBC News

In the Czech Republic, the vocalist of the folk group Asonance Gana Gorka, who contracted the coronavirus on purpose, died in order to be able to visit public places after the illness. About it informs BBC with reference to the son of a 57-year-old singer.

Gorka wrote on social networks that she was recovering after a positive test for coronavirus, but died two days after this entry.

The singer’s son Jan Rek said that she specifically contracted the coronavirus when the infection was discovered in him and his father. Reck and his father were fully vaccinated but became infected anyway in late December. Instead of isolating herself, Gorka remained by their side. At the same time, the singer did not want to be vaccinated.

The singer wanted to contract the virus so that after recovery, nothing would restrict her movement, her son said.

Jan Reck emphasizes that although his mother was not vaccinated, she did not adhere to any conspiracy theories about the origin of the virus or about vaccines. “She just preferred contagion over vaccination. She didn’t talk about any microchips or anything like that,” he says.

Yang hopes this sad story will encourage more people to get vaccinated. “If you have real life examples in front of your eyes, this is more convincing than graphs and numbers. Numbers are hard to sympathize with,” he says.

January 19 in a weekly report from the World Health Organization reportedthat the number of new cases of coronavirus infection detected last week increased by 20% compared to the previous – 18 million new cases. The only region where there is now a decrease in the incidence is Africa.

As of January 16, there have been more than 323 million confirmed cases and more than 5.5 million deaths worldwide.
