The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg sentenced Oleg Mordanov, a former employee of the Ministry of Defense, to 5 years in prison, who exposed corruption schemes in the department, and then became a defendant in a corruption case. About it writes Znak.com with a link to the press service of the court. Mordanov is also prohibited from holding administrative and economic positions for 3 years. In addition, he must pay procedural costs – 107.6 thousand rubles.

How informed Yekaterinburg news portal E1, Mordanov worked in the 140th department of the state construction supervision of the Ministry of Defense. In 2019, after three years of conflicts with his superiors, he had to quit because Mordanov refused to accept construction projects with violations. According to Mordanov’s wife, the boss threatened him with an official check and prison.

Mordanov wrote about violations to the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and to the military prosecutor’s office. According to the results of the check, the violations were confirmed and the chief Mordanov was demoted. However, a criminal case was opened against Mordanov himself.

According to investigators, in 2016 and 2018, Mordanov allegedly demanded that workers install iron gates for him in the underground parking lot and carry out work at the dacha, threatening otherwise to create difficulties with construction work at various sites. The damage was estimated at 120 thousand rubles.

In the course of the case, Mordanov was subjected to several psychiatric examinations. His lawyer Vladimir Sinanov considers this a “scam” and an attempt to put pressure on Mordanov.
