Convicted citizen of Ukraine Oleksandr Marchenko, who did not get in touch for more than a month, was found in IK-8 in Ulan-Ude. About it writes human rights project “The First Department”.
According to human rights activists, Marchenko previously served his sentence in the Krasnodar Territory, then he was transferred to Moscow to consider a cassation appeal in the Supreme Court, and after the meeting, the Federal Penitentiary Service decided to send a Ukrainian citizen to a Buryat colony. At the moment, there is no information about his state of health, they add in the First Department.
Formerly Marchenko’s wife toldthat during the last transfer – to IK-14 in the Krasnodar Territory – her husband was illegally placed in a punishment cell and deprived of the opportunity to take life-saving medicines.
In April 2021, Marchenko was sentenced to ten years in prison. According to investigators, in May 2018, he received an order from Petro Khomenko, an employee of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, to purchase spare parts for S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems in Russia and $163,000 for their purchase.
The FSB believes that “the secret items were supposed to be transferred to the Ukrainian special exporter of military equipment, the state company Ukroboronservis through an intermediary company in Macedonia.”
