The court of the Soviet district of Minsk sentenced journalist Alexander Ivulin to 2 years in a penal colony on charges of gross violation of order (part 1 of article 342). About it informs Mediazone Belarus.

Earlier, the prosecutor’s office insisted on this term.

According to the investigation, on August 23 and September 27, 2020, Ivulin and other protesters “moved along the roadway of Independence Avenue and Surganova Street in Minsk, blocking and blocking the way for cars.”

Ivulin was detained on June 3 along with his colleague on the ChestnOK YouTube channel Yaroslav Pisarenko. The security forces searched their apartments, after which they took the journalists to the detention center on Akrestsina Street.

On June 4, the Frunzensky District Court arrested Ivulin for 30 days under the article on repeated illegal picketing (part 3 of article 24.23 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The court arrested Pisarenko for 15 days under the same article.

Alexander Ivulin is a well-known sports journalist and blogger in the country, the author of the reality series “Will Sasha get out?”, In which he talked about Belarusian football.

“A girl came up to me, found out, said:“ Super, let’s take a picture. She gave me the flag. Without a second thought, I said – well, let’s take a picture. How can you refuse a beautiful girl when she offers to take a picture? ”, Ivulin commented on the accusations against him earlier.
