In St. Petersburg, the Moscow artist Ivan Volkov was detained, who created an art object in the form of snow feces on the Field of Mars. About it writes “Paper” with reference to his girlfriend, the author of the telegram channel Young Artists & Collectors Club Maria Kryuchkova.

Updated: A criminal case has been initiated against Volkov under Article 244 of the Criminal Code – “Desecration of the bodies of the dead and their burial places”, transmits Under.

According to Kryuchkova, Volkov told his mother that he had been removed from the train to Moscow on the morning of January 16 and taken to the St. Petersburg police department. Presumably, the reason for the detention could be an installation in the city center.

A snow figure in the shape and color of feces appeared on the Champ de Mars on January 13.

As before wrote “Fontanka”, it took about four hours to sculpt, and the artist used food coloring to tint the snow. “The art object appeared on January 13th. I was inspired by the work of St. Petersburg artists,” said Volkov.

At the same time, he told publication “Paper” that there is no meaning in his art object.

Field of Mars is a square in the center of St. Petersburg. Petrograd workers who died during the Yaroslavl uprising on July 6–21, 1918, participants in the defense of Petrograd from the troops of General Yudenich, are buried there.
