A native of Dagestan became a defendant in a criminal case on inciting hatred or enmity, about this reported Moscow Department of the Investigative Committee. The reason was the conflict in the Moscow bus. The man demanded that the bus be stopped between stops. After the refusal, he stated that if he were Russian, the driver would have stopped on demand. After the passengers stood up for the driver, he accused them of Nazism. One of the passengers suggested that the Caucasian behave like this “at home”. Another called the Caucasian a monkey.
“I want to behave like this, you have to behave like this with Russians,” said the Caucasian. – I’m at home. If there had been a Russian in my place, he would have stopped. He is a Nazi. And you are a Nazi. Nothing, the time will come when we will beat you all. We are Dagestanis.”
The head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov reacted to the incident. He demanded that the Caucasian apologize. According to Melikov, such behavior violates the norms that exist in society and contradicts the Dagestan’s code of ethics, which determines the attitude towards elders.
The maximum punishment under the article on inciting hatred or enmity provides for imprisonment for up to six years.
