At the end of October 2021, two bloggers – Ruslani Talabdzhon (Ruslan Bobiev) and model Anastasia Chistova (Asya Akimova) – received 10 months in prison for insulting the feelings of believers (part 1 of article 148 of the Criminal Code) due to a photo with imitation of sexual intercourse on Outside St. Basil’s Cathedral. In the photo, Bobiev is standing in front of the temple, and a girl in a police jacket is squatting in front of him.
After the arrest, Bobiev apologized for his act and promised “never to do that again.” He also said that he shoots pranks. The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that “the actions of young people were of a public, demonstrative nature, expressed clear disrespect for society and contained signs of insulting the feelings of believers.”
