Former FSB officer who raped a St. Petersburg businessman with a carbine during a search was released from prison ahead of schedule

Former FSB officer, 29-year-old Ilya Kirsanov, who during the search inserted the barrel of a carbine into the anus of businessman Igor Salikov, was released. He served less than 2 years and 4 months out of the prescribed 4. This is reported by Fontanka.

According to the publication, he served a year in the FSB detention center on Shpalernaya. It adjoins Liteiny 4 (the building of the FSB administration), and there is a passage between them.

In 2019, FSB officer Ilya Kirsanov found guilty in exceeding official powers with the use of violence, weapons and causing grave consequences (clauses “a”, “b” and “c” of part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code). The court later refused to commute his sentence on appeal. However, later the Kirovo-Chepetsky District Court of the Kirov Region replaced four years in a general regime colony with a year and 10 months of restriction of liberty.

As stated in the court ruling, his sentence was mitigated on the basis of positive characteristics from the colony, an “active position for correction” and a guilty plea. The former security officer also has an encouragement from the head of the detachment of the Kirov IK-5.

According to Igor Salikov, during the search, Kirsanov stuck the barrel of a Tiger hunting carbine into his anus. Doctors diagnosed the businessman with a rupture of the rectum, lacerations of the anal canal, bruised bladder and other injuries.

Kirsanov himself did not admit his guilt during the debate and suggested that the victim himself had injured himself, because he repeatedly went to the toilet, and then complained of pain in his stomach. During the trial, it became known that after the initiation of a criminal case, the security official worked for the FSB for almost a year.

Igor Salikov himself was sentenced to three years in prison in the case of sexual assault (part 1 of article 132 of the Criminal Code). He was released a few weeks after the verdict – the court credited him with the time spent in the pre-trial detention center.

The victim in this case, a former employee of the Investigative Committee, was the lover of Igor Salikov’s ex-wife. According to investigators, the businessman persuaded a friend to force the victim to have oral sex with him.
