In 14 regions of Kazakhstan, the “critical red” level of terrorist threat was canceled. About it informs National Security Committee of the Republic.
In particular, we are talking about the cities of Nur-Sultan and Shymkent, as well as Akmola, Aktobe, Atyrau, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, Kostanay, Mangystau, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan and Turkestan regions.
In the remaining three regions – Almaty, Almaty and Zhambyl regions, a dangerous situation continues. They are still carrying out “measures to identify and detain terrorists and persons involved in other criminal activities during the period of riots.”
Rallies in Kazakhstan began on January 2 in Zhanaozen, later residents of the city were supported in many other settlements. By the evening of January 4, the protests, to which people mostly came out with political demands, swept most of the country. Later, a counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced throughout the country, which continues to this day – “until the militants are completely destroyed.”
