Activist Andrei Khristoforov, known as Drevarkh Enlightened, was sentenced to one year of probation. The decision was made by the Ust-Vymsky District Court in the Komi Republic, Mediazona reports. Drevarch was found guilty of using violence against a policeman.

The activist told The Insider that he has not yet seen the text of the verdict. About his return to Russia, the activist says: “The sooner you sit down, the sooner you leave.” It is also known that he was given a one-year reprieve.

According to investigators, in June 2019, Drevarkh used the stop crane on the train as it approached the Shiyes station. The police demanded that the activist go along with them to draw up an administrative protocol. During the arrest, there was a scuffle, the activist and the policeman suffered from a stun gun. Khristoforov was injured and was taken to the city hospital with a diagnosis of concussion.

Andrei Khristoforov was one of the active participants in the protests against the construction of a landfill at the Shies station in the Arkhangelsk region.

He left Russia for Ukraine after a criminal case was initiated against him under the article on the use of violence against a representative of the authorities (part 1 of article 318 of the Criminal Code). In mid-2021, the activist returned to the country.

After returning to Arkhangelsk, the court sent Khristoforov for five days under house arrest, after which they took a written undertaking not to leave him. According to Sever.Realiya, the investigators said that through social networks they “established a psychological contact” with the activist and convinced him to return to Russia.
