On the night of Christmas, the President of Russia attended a service in the house church of his residence in Novo-Ogaryovo, reported on the Kremlin website. This is the house church in his Novo-Ogarevo residence near Moscow, the media say.
“Vladimir Putin congratulated Orthodox Christians, all citizens of Russia, celebrating the Nativity of Christ,” the message says.
In 2004, the temple was restored and became the home church of the presidential residence. For other parishioners outside the residence in the village of Usovo, a new Spassky Church was built in the 2000s.
