The driver of the TV channel “Almaty” was killed as a result of shelling of the car of the film crew. The journalists went to the akimat, they were invited to record a video message of the city akim Bakytzhan Sagintayev to the townspeople. The TV channel journalist was also injured. According to the newspaper, Aigerim Sekerbekkyzy, director of the information programs department of the Almaty TV channel, declined to comment. The Insider was also unable to obtain confirmation or denial of this information.

Sources of Orda.kz reported that the car came under fire near the presidential residence at about 23.00 local time (20:00 Moscow time).
