The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan said that during the riots in the country, 18 security officials were killed, 748 were wounded, and 2298 people were detained.
The number of protesters killed is still not named.
Earlier today, the independent coordination headquarters reported that during the clashes with the security forces on Republic Square in Almaty perished at least 30 protesters.
For the fifth day in Kazakhstan, protests caused by a sharp rise in prices for liquefied gas have not abated. The rallies began on January 2 in Zhanaozen, later the residents of the city were supported in many other settlements. By the evening of January 4, protests, to which the majority of people come out with political demands, gripped most of the country.
