The Kosovo authorities have declared an employee of the UN mission (UNMIK, UNMIK) from Russia persona non grata. About it reported on Facebook, Foreign Minister Donika Gervala.

“At the request of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today I made a decision to declare the Russian representative in UNMIK persona non grata because of his malicious activities that violate the national security of the Republic of Kosovo. At the same time, I have notified the competent authorities about the implementation of this decision. The structures of the Republic of Kosovo remain committed to the fight against the negative influence of the Russian Federation and its satellites in the region, whose purpose is to undermine the achievements of Kosovo and our partners, primarily the United States, NATO and the EU, ”the minister wrote, without revealing the name of the Russian.

The Russian Embassy in Serbia called this decision “another anti-Russian and anti-UN provocation.”

“We expect that the Kosovo Albanian prank will receive a tough and unequivocal rebuke through UNMIK. We call on the UN administration of the region to fully ensure the safety of its Russian employees “, – it says in the message of the press service of the embassy, which is quoted by TASS.

On October 22, the Kosovo authorities declared two Russian diplomats from the Pristina branch of the embassy in Serbia persona non grata. Kosovo President Viosa Osmani wrote about this on Facebook.

Then the Russians decided to expel also “because of their harmful activities”, which contributed to the violation of the country’s constitutional order and endangering its national security. The Russian authorities did not comment on the situation.

In early October, the NATO leadership decided to cut the Russian mission in the alliance by half – from 20 to 10 people. “We have strengthened containment and defense in response to Russia’s aggressive actions, and at the same time remain open to constructive dialogue,” he stressed to represent NATO, commenting on this decision.
