Pop MMA fighter Chorshanbe Chorshanbiev was detained in Dushanbe. He is charged with inciting ethnic and religious hatred, as well as public calls for the overthrow of the government in Tajikistan. The Insider was informed about this by his fiancée Natalya Shagirova.
A criminal case against the fighter was opened by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Shokhmansur district of Dushanbe. He was detained on the morning of December 30 at the Dushanbe airport, where he arrived because of Russia’s decision to deport the fighter. After the arrest, Chorshanbiyev was taken away in an unknown direction. According to Shagirova, he was taken to the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan; now his whereabouts are unknown.
Chorshanbe Chorshanbiev was deported from Russia on the night of December 30 by the decision of the Ostankino court in Moscow, he was accused of violating migration laws and, in addition to deportation, was fined 10 thousand rubles. The decision was made after Chorshanbiev was detained due to dangerous driving. He did not have a Russian license with him, only a national driver’s license, which has no legal force on the territory of Russia.
Chorshanbiev is known for his scandalous behavior at conferences for pop-MMA participants, where the athlete’s statements often became the cause of fights. He also said that there are a lot of people with Nazi views in Russia, so he doesn’t like the country and its capital. The athlete’s plans were to move to the United States.
