The Kirovsky District Court of St. Petersburg acquitted the defendants in the case of long-term sexual abuse in an orphanage. About it informs united press service of the city courts.
The accused in this case were the ex-leaders of the Center for the Promotion of Family Education No. 8, as well as five of its former pupils.
How wrote “Fontanka” with reference to lawyer Dmitry Gerasimov, in the debate the prosecution found the guilt of the defendants in the case proved and assessed the systematic abuse of the children in the orphanage in real terms.
In particular, the prosecutor asked to appoint the ex-deputy director of the Center Mikhail Elin 25 years in prison, and ex-pupils Andrei Solovyov, Pavel Prikashchikov and Kirill Pokalyuk – from 13 to 22.5 years. The fifth person involved in the case – Honored Teacher of Russia Stanislav Vinogradov – died during the investigation, so the prosecutor’s office asked him to dismiss the case.
“The court acquitted the defendants for the absence of a crime event. All released from custody in the courtroom immediately. The deceased Vinogradov is also acquitted, ”the press service of the St. Petersburg courts said in a statement.
Earlier it was reported that, according to the prosecution, in the orphanage on Ivan Chernykh Street, former pupils and mentors raped orphans from 2012 to 2017.
