Director Jean-Marc Vallee died in a suburb of Quebec at the age of 58, transfers Variety.
“Jean-Marc advocated creativity, authenticity and the ability to try new things. He was a real artist and a generous, loving person. Everyone who worked with him could not help but notice his talent and vision, ”the publication quotes the statement of Vallee’s colleague Nathan Ross.
Vallee began his career with short films and video clips. In 1995 his debut film “Black List” was released.
Vallee has directed nine feature films in total, including Young Victoria and the Dallas Buyers Club, which garnered six Oscar nominations.
Vallee has also directed two HBO projects, Big Little Lies with Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon and Sharp Objects with Amy Adams.
