Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine aroused a criminal case against the head of the Ministry of Transport of Russia Vitaly Savelyev and one of his deputies. High-ranking Russian officials are suspected of organizing the illegal transfer of persons across the state border (part 3 of article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for up to nine years in prison.
The supervisory authority clarified that the initiation of the case is connected with the work of Russian officials in the management of Aeroflot and with passenger flights arriving in Crimea and departing from the peninsula.
“According to the investigation, the suspects, being in leading positions of the largest air carrier of the Russian Federation, PJSC Aeroflot, after the closure of all air checkpoints across the state border of Ukraine and control points on the temporarily occupied territory of the Crimean peninsula, organized a criminal scheme,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said in a statement. – In accordance with it, from April 2014 to November 2020, more than 34 thousand flights were made to and from the Crimean peninsula. Thus, at least 329 thousand people were illegally smuggled across the state border of Ukraine ”.
As indicated in the department, the flights were made contrary to the norms of international law and air law of Ukraine. At the same time, the Russian airline, despite the presence of direct bans of the Ukrainian aviation authorities, carried out “illegal regular passenger air transportation to the closed international airport“ Simferopol ”and in the opposite direction”.
The Ukrainian authorities are bringing to justice the passengers themselves who flew the “Crimean” flights. So, on December 24, the State Border Service of Ukraine reportedthat the Russian actress was not allowed to enter the country. She was also banned from entering Ukraine for a period of three years.
The actress flew to Kiev Borispol airport by flight from Abu Dhabi. “The border guards found out that in the fall of 2017, the woman visited the Autonomous Republic of Crimea for the purpose of filming in the TV series“ Fly Crew ”for the STS TV channel. To get to the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, a Russian citizen took advantage of the St. Petersburg – Simferopol air route, the Ukrainian border guards explained.
By data the source of “Ukrainian Truth”, Alisa Shitikova received a refusal to enter.
