Mayor of the city Andrey Alekseenko was detained in Krasnodar, transfers Znak.com citing its own sources.
According to the newspaper, at the moment Alekseenko is being taken for interrogation, and searches are taking place in his house and the city hall. At the same time, RIA Novosti reports that Alekseenko “has not yet been detained,” but confirms that searches have already taken place in his house and office.
Alekseenko was elected mayor of Krasnodar in November this year. He was chosen unanimously in a secret ballot, as a result of which 40 people voted for Alekseenko.
“Do not expect loud and beautiful words, slogans and statements from me. Residents of the city are tired of this, we are all tired of this too. First of all, we need to honestly and realistically assess all the problems that exist in the city, and solve them professionally and responsibly, ”Alekseenko said then.
In addition, Alekseenko stressed that the city has a large number of problems related to social and transport infrastructure, which are simply impossible to solve.
“We are constantly suffocating in traffic jams – all last week in Krasnodar it was 10 points. Groups in kindergartens reach up to 80 kids, many parents have to take their children to school in another area. The road takes 1-2 hours and turns into torture. Let’s be honest – the city has long ceased to be green and cozy. The volume of problems is so colossal that it is simply impossible to solve them with the city budget, the regional budget, ”he noted.
In total, 23 people applied for the post of mayor, including the director of the non-profit organization “Southern Milk Union” Konstantin Sinetsky, technical director of the construction company “Labyrinth” Alexander Tersky, individual entrepreneur Evgeny Ilyin from Novoshakhtinsk, as well as heads of Krasnodar district administrations – Dmitry Vodolatsky and Vitaly Katunin.
