The Minsk regional court sentenced four people accused of committing acts of terrorism and illegal arms trafficking to imprisonment for a term of 18 to 20 years. About it informs human rights center “Vesna”.
Igor Olinevich received 20 years of imprisonment, Sergey Romanov – also 20 years old, Dmitry Rezanovich – 19 years old, Dmitry Dubovsky – 18 years old.
Previously, the accused were included by the Belarusian State Security Committee in the list of persons involved in terrorist activities.
Four anarchists were detained on the night of October 29 last year near the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. They are accused of setting fire to service cars, the building of the traffic police and the State Committee for Forensic Examination in Gomel (part 2 of article 289 – “Act of terrorism” and part 2 of article 295 – “Illegal circulation of weapons”). Dubovsky and Olinevich are also accused of illegal movement of prohibited substances, firearms and explosive devices across the border (Article 333-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus).
