Russian media, referring to the FSB Public Relations Center, report the arrest in the Rostov region of a supporter of the “Ukrainian neo-Nazi group” MKU, who was preparing a violent action against the journalist. TASS writes:
“The Federal Security Service, in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Rostov Region, detained a Russian citizen born in 1979, who was involved in the preparation, at the direction of the leader of the neo-Nazi radical youth group MKU, citizen of Ukraine Yegor Krasnov, for a violent action against a representative of the Russian media specializing in the preparation of journalism materials on Ukrainian issues, ”the FSB said.
According to this information, components for making improvised explosive devices, communication equipment and personal notes with instructions for their assembly and use, as well as a significant amount of propaganda materials of an extremist nature were seized from the detainee. The issue of initiating a criminal case is being resolved.
On December 13, the FSB of Russia announced the arrest of 106 supporters of MKU in 37 Russian regions. According to the FSB, two of them are suspected of preparing attacks on educational institutions.
Judging by the published footage from the detention, during the searches people found pneumatic weapons, shurikens and hammers.
According to the security service, the group was created by Yegor Krasnov, a citizen of Ukraine put on the international wanted list. The FSB Public Relations Center noted that “the purpose of the events was to suppress the action inspired by Krasnov in various regions of the Russian Federation, within the framework of which his supporters, through messengers and social networks, were informed about the commission of terrorist acts and mass murders.”
As noted by TASS, since the beginning of the year the FSB has conducted several large-scale special operations to detain supporters of the “MKU”. In total, about 60 people have been detained in Russia since March.
Kommersant clarifiesthat the abbreviation MKU stands for “Maniacs. The cult of the assassins “; the newspaper reported the first arrests of members of the group in Voronezh back in February.
Vesti claimed that there was a certain Moscow branch of the group that oversees the SBU, and the online edition Ukraina.ru names the curator’s name – Vitaly Koshytsky.
In the Ukrainian segment of the Internet, there is almost no evidence of the existence of such a group; the name of the “curator from the SBU” Koshytsky is not mentioned at all. On the other hand, according to the “investigators” from the ROKOT Telegram channel, after the winter protests, which published the personal data of their participants, this SBU officer uses the VKontakte social network, which is blocked in Ukraine and cooperates with Russian law enforcement agencies. The account indicated by “ROKOT” is indeed exists, it publishes poems by Koshytsky. The photograph of Koshytsky published by ROKOT is not found anywhere else on the Internet. Besides “Arguments and Facts” and the “revelatory” pro-Kremlin resource Stalker Zone.
