In Belarus, new presidential elections will not be held under international supervision. About it stated Alexander Lukashenko, speaking at a meeting with the activists of the Vitebsk region.
“I have always warned you and honestly said: we do not know what new leverage they will use to put pressure on us. But the fact that they launched a hybrid war against us is a fact. Mass media, diplomatic pressure, political pressure demanding to hold new elections immediately, releasing these so-called political prisoners (they are not political prisoners either), elections. But we do not have to hold the elections, they will come and hold under the auspices of the OSCE. Have you seen such miracles anywhere? For strangers to come to some country and hold elections! They will come to our civilized country to hold elections. Here is their demand. Naturally, I cannot agree to this, ”Lukashenka said.
Lukashenko noted that he recently thought about new elections, “but then changed his mind,” because, according to him, new unrest may occur in society.
Let us remind you that the last elections of the Belarusian president took place on August 9, 2020. Alexander Lukashenko ran for the sixth time and, in his opinion, won in the first round. According to the conclusion of the OSCE Rapporteur under the Moscow Mechanism, there is undeniable evidence of election fraud, and the security forces used massive human rights violations, including torture, in response to peaceful demonstrations.
