The service of advertisements for the sale and rent of housing CIAN will add a note from February that the owner of the premises is renting it “not only to the Slavs.” About it reported head of the company Maxim Melnikov in a conversation with RBC.

“Firstly, we, as a company, and our employees, because in addition to Russians, CIAN also employs people from the Caucasus, and from the countries of Central Asia, and many other countries and nationalities. Secondly, there is a huge number of owners who are ready to rent to non-Slavs. The third category of people is those who have a non-Slavic appearance. From our point of view, they do not get the best service from us and from the market. I would definitely not want these people to feel like second class. Otherwise, we will slide back to the past centuries, to discrimination based on race or nationality, ”the head of the company explained the decision.

Melnikov noted that some of the apartment owners do not agree with him. “All owners still have the right to choose who they want to rent out to,” he stressed.

We will remind, earlier the creators of the largest group of rental housing in Moscow Flats for Friends announced that all ads must contain the phrase “Apartment pet-friendly, residents of all nationalities, origins, genders, ages, preferences in love are welcome.” If this postscript is not present, the author of the post will have to pay 500 rubles.
