Criminal case opened against Nabi Rakhimov killed in Crimea by FSB officers

[ad_1]

A criminal case was opened against Nabi Rakhimov, who was killed by FSB officers during a search, on the use of violence against a government official. About it informs “Crimean Solidarity”.

According to the newspaper, the case is now at the stage of preliminary investigation. Relatives still refuse to hand over Rakhimov’s body.

We will remind, on May 11 in Crimea, FSB officers killed a native of Uzbekistan Nabi Rakhimov. Security officials and local authorities called it “neutralizing a member of international terrorist organizations.” Human rights defenders and lawyers in an interview with The Insider statedthat the security forces came to Rakhimov without explaining the reasons, probably tortured him before his death, after which they staged a special operation and opened a criminal case against the murdered man about the attack on a law enforcement officer.

After Rakhimov’s death, on May 12, the court ruled to deport his widow Sohiba Burkhanova to Uzbekistan (before that she will be placed in a temporary detention center for foreign citizens), and her children, 11 and 15 years old, to be placed under the care of a third party or escorted to the border.

Nabi Rakhimov is a native of Uzbekistan. After a trip to his homeland in 2009, local authorities opened a case against him for his participation in the Hizb ut-Tahrir party, which is banned in Uzbekistan and Russia. Rakhimov was detained in Russia in 2013 and was about to be deported to his homeland. In 2014, Russia paid Rakhimov compensation for the decision ECHR on the fact of ill-treatment. The ECHR also demanded that Russia not expel Rakhimov from the country.
