The World Health Organization is investigating 89 deaths from an unknown disease in South Sudan. informs BBC.
Jonglei State, where people died, is one of the hardest hit by the recent flooding.
Initial samples collected from the area indicated that it was not the cholera that the doctors suspected.
“We decided to send a rapid response team to assess the risks and conduct an investigation,” a WHO spokesman told the publication.
About half a million people have been affected and displaced by floods that have hit South Sudan since May.
