In Tomsk, the senior interrogator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Yulia Suvorova, was fired because of criticism of the authorities, threatening to bring a case against her under the article on extremism if she did not write a statement voluntarily. According to Suvorova, on November 25, she went to work after sick leave, and she was summoned to the personnel department, where “three people from the authorities, a psychologist and a lawyer” were already sitting. The interrogator was told that the authorities had information that they were criticizing the authorities on the Internet. She was asked if she had subscribed to the Police Ombudsman public, whether she wrote comments of an extremist nature, whether she discussed the roads and the government, elections and amendments to the Constitution, and whether she liked and commented on Navalny’s posts.
Suvorova said that she could “comment on something or like it,” and also did not rule out that she had previously signed up for the Anti-Corruption Fund.
“When the poisoning of Alexei Navalny happened and it was discussed in social networks that he was a criminal, I wrote something against it. And the police officer is forbidden to express his opinion about politics, about the actions of officials and deputies, “- said Suvorova. She also recalled that she wrote at the popular Tomsk forum for mothers about regional roads and medicine.
According to Suvorova, they explained to her that if she did not write a letter of dismissal by agreement of the parties, she would still be fired, regardless of whether she was on sick leave or had a “broken arm or leg.”
“The OSB will connect, and the issue of initiating a criminal case under articles related to extremism will be resolved. You understand where you work, there will always be something for which to involve a police officer, ”the interrogator was told.
After the dismissal, former colleagues told Suvorova that she was not the only one who was fired on November 25. According to them, on the same day, another 26 police officers were fired for subscribing to “Smart Voting”.
Yulia Suvorova has worked in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for over 15 years. After being fired, she will have to move out of her service apartment, and she will also lose her place in the queue for a lump sum payment for the purchase of housing.
