Residents of Yekaterinburg and Arkhangelsk came out to protest against the introduction of QR codes. In Yekaterinburg, lawyer Ivan Volkov is one of the organizers of the action. Previously, he tried to challenge in court the governor’s decree on antique restrictions, transfers E1.ru. QR codes are valid in the region from October 30th.
Activists of the Parental Supervision movement in Yekaterinburg had previously applied for a picket on December 11 in the city center, but the authorities did not approve the rally. The officials cited the unfavorable epidemiological situation as the reason.
In Arkhangelsk, about a hundred people gathered in the central square of the city, protesting against the restrictions imposed in the region on October 29. The rally was also not approved by the city authorities; several people were detained.
After that, the protesters went to the police station, where they took the detainees, transfers local portal 29.ru. The police promised to release the activists after the protocol was drawn up.
December 7 Blagoveshchensk City Court of the Amur Region appointed 30 days of administrative arrest for activist Dmitry Kravtsov, who was detained during the rally of opponents of QR codes.
Kravtsov was found guilty of re-participating in an uncoordinated public event, informs “Siberia.Realii” with reference to the activist’s wife Ksenia Kravtsova.
Public events in the Amur Region have been suspended since January 27 by the order of Governor Vasily Orlov. The authorities attributed this to the fight against the spread of the coronavirus.
Attempts to convey to officials the demands to cancel QR codes lead to the initiation of not only administrative but also criminal cases. So, in Vologda attracted a 46-year-old resident of Cherepovets who, in the regional legislative assembly, sprayed dichlorvos in the direction of the police and the National Guard officers, was brought to justice.
