The developers stated that EpiVacCorona is effective against the omicron. Before that, she failed all independent tests.

The “Vector” center said that the “EpiVacCorona” vaccine will be effective against “omicron” – a strain of coronavirus, informs Interfax. Experts have repeatedly stated the ineffectiveness of this vaccine and accused its developers of falsifying the test results.

“Those peptides that are part of the vaccine are resistant against the current variants (coronavirus) and are effective (…) We expect similar results against the omicron strain, in practice we will check this in the very near future”, – Director General of the Vector “Rinat Maksyutov at the plenary session of the II International Scientific and Practical Conference on Counteracting Coronavirus and Other Infectious Diseases.

The developers of EpiVacCorona have previously stated that it is 100% effective. At the same time, they were not detected in the participants in the EpiVacCorona clinical trials, who independently tested for antibodies to SARS-Cov-2 in commercial laboratories.

In February of this year, the participants of the third phase of post-registration clinical trials “EpiVacCorona” applied with open letter to the Ministry of Health, Rospotrebnadzor and Vektor. They stated that in their sample, more than 50% of those who had documented their participation in the study tested negative for antibodies, although only 25% of the participants should have had a placebo. According to the volunteers, even those who tested positive for antibodies had very low titers.

By data, published in specialized groups, 53% of participants in clinical trials (47 out of 89 people) received a negative antibody test, and did not detect antibodies in four out of 15 participants in civil vaccination.

In “Vector” the absence of antibodies in the vaccinated was explained by the fact that antibodies after “EpiVacCorona” can only be shown by a test system of their own design. Edition “Biomolecule” wrote earlier that this may be true, but these antibodies may not be able to effectively protect against COVID-19, since the peptides on the basis of which the vaccine was made could have been chosen incorrectly.

In November last year, representatives of “Vector” stated that according to the results of clinical trials of the vaccine, antibodies were detected in 100% of the volunteers. However, how writes Novaya Gazeta, the effectiveness of the drug at that time was not even tested. Judging by the official timing of research and registration of the vaccine in the RPM, efficacy trials began only in December and the publication assumed that the vaccine was launched into civilian circulation, without waiting for their results.
