In Primorye, special forces and riot police beat and tortured prisoners of correctional colony No. 27 with electric shock for several hours during the “special operation against AUE.” About it informs “Novaya Gazeta” with reference to the conclusion of the Public Monitoring Commission, drawn up following a visit to the colony.
On December 9, after the incident, three prisoners were taken to the regional clinical hospital.
According to the convicts, at 05:55 am on December 3, when everyone was asleep, special forces and riot police, in the number of about 100 people, entered Detachment 6. Spetsnaz used noise grenades. Warm clothes were taken away from the prisoners. “Having thrown them off their beds, they were put on the cold floor in their underwear, the windows were opened and for more than 9 hours they were kept on the floor, while they were beaten with sticks and electric shockers,” the report says.
The convicts also said that they were insulted, stepped on the recumbent bodies, and beat them on the heels.
Human rights activists recorded multiple beatings on their bodies, smashed their faces in blood and knocked out their teeth: “Almost all the convicts showed abrasions and bruises on the face, on the back of the head, on the neck, on the shoulder blades, on the lower back, on the buttocks, legs, arms, broken heels, some of the convicts stated that their limbs were broken ”.
Now six people move around both on crutches and with the help of a cane. Also, many convicts complained that their chest was broken off, and it was difficult for them to breathe.
The acting head of the colony, Ilya Yanishpolskiy, on the complaints of prisoners, said that it was “resource-consuming” to make X-rays for them, the document says.
