Investigators from the Moscow department of the FSB charged YouTube blogger Valentin Shlyakov with public calls for extremist activities. About it informs TASS citing a law enforcement source.
“By the order of the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow, he was placed in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center for the duration of the preliminary investigation,” a source said. According to him, the criminal case against Shlyakov “is connected with his statements on his personal YouTube account.
More than 20 thousand users have subscribed to Shlyakov’s channel. According to Kommersant, Shlyakov’s videos often featured unverified fake information, for example, about China’s readiness to suppress protests in Khabarovsk or the death of Vladimir Putin’s daughter after vaccination. In 2005, Shlyakov was convicted of setting fire to a car, but he was released from punishment and placed in a psychiatric hospital.
