HSE students received a letter banning internships in the media recognized by the Ministry of Justice as “foreign agents”. On this drew attention of the 4th year student of the Faculty of Communications, Media and Design Tatyana Kolobakina.
“The HSE has banned the internship at individual entrepreneurship and – bingo! – “foreign agents”. Interestingly, where should those journalists who do not want to spend a month in gazeta.ru and TASS have their internships? ”- writes Kolobakina.
She told The Insider that a document with such a requirement was sent to students by the HSE’s corporate mail. According to Kolobakina, it is titled “an algorithm for passing the practice.” There is no law prohibiting student practice in media “foreign agents”.
In addition, the letter says about a ban on internship with individual entrepreneurs, which means in those media that are registered as individuals.
HSE itself denies the existence of a ban.
“The information about the prohibition of FKMD students from internships in individual entrepreneurship organizations and foreign media agents is incorrect, we do not have such a prohibition, such decisions were not made either at the administration or at the faculty level,” says a statement from the university’s press service received by The Insider. “At the same time, the students really received a letter containing erroneous, incorrect information. The mistake of the practice manager, who sent the letter on his own initiative and without the consent of his management, is associated with a misunderstanding of the legislation. “
