From January 1, the Belarusian authorities will impose a ban on the import of food products from the EU, the USA, Canada, Great Britain and other states that have imposed sanctions against the Belarusian government, “in order to ensure the protection of the national interests of Belarus.” This is stated in the document “On the application of special measures”, published on the National Legal Portal.

Among the goods prohibited for import are meat and dairy products, fruits, vegetables and confectionery. The ban will be in effect for six months.

«[Решение] will not affect the goods imported by Belarusians for personal consumption, as well as, for example, intended for baby food, and a number of other items of critical import “, – stated press service of the government.

On the eve of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry announced a decision to ban the import of goods into Belarus from states “applying illegal anti-Belarusian sanctions”. This is how the authorities decided to respond to the new sanctions against Belarus, which were introduced by the European Union, Great Britain, Canada and the United States.
