Gasoline and diesel fuel in Moscow have been rising in price for ten weeks in a row. About it reported in the Moscow Fuel Association.

The cost of diesel fuel continues to be higher than the price of AI-95. The price of diesel fuel last week increased by 21 kopecks – up to 52.67 rubles per liter.

Ai-92 last week increased by 20 kopecks – up to 47.11 rubles per liter. Ai-95 has risen in price by 22 kopecks – up to 52.14 rubles per liter.

Average consumer prices for gasoline in Russia continue to rise, despite the decline in demand.

“We have a fuel surplus in our country – more of it is produced than is required by the domestic market,” – explained The Insider head of the think tank “Independent Fuel Union” Grigory Bazhenov. “If we talk about gasoline, then the proportion there is about 90/10 – 90% is consumed within the country and 10% is exported. For diesel, the proportion is somewhere around 50/50 – half is consumed internally, half is exported. In the case of winter diesel, there is a certain difficulty due to the fact that it is more limited in season and is of little interest in terms of export. Its volumes are less than the volumes of alternative oil products, therefore the price reacts in this way. Therefore, there is nothing surprising in the fact that now the difference in prices for summer and winter diesel on the stock exchange is about 17 thousand rubles per ton.

In addition, many independent filling stations are faced with the problem of regulating retail prices. You need to understand that this regulation is tacit, there is no normative document that would fix it – they say “keep prices and do not increase them.” This problem became acute after the price jump that occurred in 2018.

In general, the entire system established in our country does not imply a reduction in fuel prices, therefore retail prices are actually regulated. If you operate in this market and often face the problem of price disparity, when wholesale prices begin to equal retail prices, you will always increase prices. Today, gasoline is getting cheaper on the stock exchange, because the high season is over. But this does not lead to a decrease in retail prices, ”the expert explained.

According to Rosstat, the rise in gasoline prices was noted in 70 centers of the constituent entities of Russia. Most of all, he rose in price in Magadan, Abakan and Chita. The decrease in prices for motor gasoline was recorded only in Ryazan – by 0.1%.
