Tomsk journalist of RusNews, Igor Kuznetsov, a suspect in the case of “inciting unrest” via Telegram, was charged with another charge. About it told his lawyer Sergey Badamshin.
A new charge was brought under article 282.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (creation of an extremist community). According to him, a term of six to ten years may threaten.
In September of this year, the Investigative Committee announced the initiation of a criminal case for inciting riots through Telegram. According to investigators, at least 11 people from seven regions of Russia called for street protests during the voting days of September 17-19. Among the defendants is 56-year-old journalist Igor Kuznetsov. On September 16, a search was carried out in his apartment. The next day, the court sent Kuznetsov under arrest.
