The social network Twitter announced the removal of 66 accounts associated with Russia. About it writes RIA Novosti.
In total, Twitter deleted 3465 accounts associated with six countries for “information operations”: more than two thousand – with China, 276 – with Mexico, more than 270 – with Venezuela, 418 – with Uganda, 268 – with Tanzania.
According to the administration of the service, 16 accounts associated with Russia “tried to conduct an information operation in the Central African Republic”, another 50 “attacked the civilian government of Libya and its supporters and expressed significant support for the Russian geopolitical position in Libya and Syria.”
Previously became knownthat a new protocol on an administrative offense against Twitter, drawn up by Roskomnadzor due to the social network’s refusal to remove content banned in Russia, was submitted to the Moscow Magistrates’ Court.
Google, Telegram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok have more than once been prosecuted in Russia for failure to remove prohibited content (Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). The amount of fines against all foreign companies since the beginning of the year has already exceeded 200 million rubles.
